In this public talk, researcher Thomas Y. Chen will discuss how artificial intelligence can be an important tool in conserving wildlife, ecosystems, and biodiversity. From linear regression to computer vision-based applications, the nexus between machine learning and conservation is extremely exciting. He will talk about his current work in this area as well as future work on the horizon. Chen is a member of the United States Technology Policy Committee and the Research Data Alliance. He has several peer-reviewed publications and has given dozens of talks at scientific conferences in his fields of expertise. The talk will take place via Zoom. Subtitles will be provided in Czech.
